Common organisms causing infections are S.aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, S.pneumoniae, Enterobacteriaeceae, Streptococcus & certain Gram negative bacilli. On identification of the organism, antibiotic susceptibilities are performed that aid in selection of appropriate antibiotic for treatment.
